Habitat for Humanity

Habitat for Humanity is an organization that works in partnership with God and people to build affordable homes, empower families, and develop communities. Through volunteer labor and donations of money and materials, Habitat builds houses with the help of the partner families. The houses are then sold to partner families at no profit.

One way in which Overbrook supports Habitat for Humanity is financially. More than $4,000 are donated from Overbrook’s Mission Budget to Habitat for Humanity each year. Also, to raise money for Habitat, the friendship class holds an annual Christmas Bazaar where they sell crafts that they have spent the year making.

Overbrook members also donate time helping build Habitat Houses and the church presents a quilt sewn by Overbrook women to each family moving into a Habitat House in Columbus.
