Who We Are

Overbrook Presbyterian Church is a welcoming family of many generations.  As a cornerstone of the community for over 70 years, our members have helped build and influence the community through dedicated mission and service.  We also actively share the love of Jesus Christ through our personal connections, in both Contemporary and Traditional Worship services on Sunday mornings, and by opening our facilities throughout the week to numerous community organizations and ministries.

What We Believe

As a member congregation of the Presbyterian Church (USA), our most basic beliefs are found in the Apostles’ Creed. Below are the Mission and Vision Statements we have discerned as Overbrook Presbyterian Church. To learn more about Presbyterian beliefs in general, visit The Book of Confessions, or this summary.

Mission Statement

We are a community

We serve
through worship,
teaching, learning,
mission and fellowship.

We attend to
local, regional and global
needs of God’s creation,
expressing
the love of God
and the caring example
of Jesus Christ.

Vision Statement

Gathered by God as Overbrook Presbyterian Church,

We respond to God’s mighty acts in the teaching, life, death and resurrections of Jesus by nurturing a culture of personal and corporate responsibility in believing, belonging, leading and serving.

To this vision we will:

Express faith and interpret God’s word in inspirational worship, drawing from various forms of music, the arts and the spoken word;
Become a center of support for all our members and neighbors— rich and poor, children, youthful adults, seniors, traditional and non traditional families;
Welcome neighbors by developing a relationship with our community as a center of information and education about such matters as Christianity and religion, tolerance, justice, families, relationships, health, aging and other timely issues.
Expand our mission and service, which is the heart of the church, by growing our current good work while sowing seeds of new ideas.
