Join us in the Parlor on Friday, October 19th, for the award-winning film, “Won’t You Be My Neighbor?” from director Morgan Neville.
From 1968 to 2001, Fred Rogers entertained, taught, and inspired children and their parents through a simple public broadcasting television show. This documentary tells the story of the television show, Mr. Roger’s Neighborhood, and the deep, yet subtle Christian values that were woven into every episode. Even if you never watched Mr. Rogers as a child or as a parent, you will be moved by his impact on, and challenge to, our American culture. (Trivia Note: Did you know that Mr. Rogers was an ordained Presbyterian minister?)
We’ll view the movie together, then discuss the theology we find within. Snacks, drinks and comfy chairs will be provided. Friends and neighbors are always welcome. This movie is rated PG-13.
