Hollywood Jesus Movie Night

Join us in the Parlor at 7:00 p.m., on Friday, February 21st, for another evening of movie viewing and discussion. This month, we’ll view the film Jojo Rabbit. It’s a World War II satire which follows a lonely German boy named Jojo whose world view is turned upside down when he discovers his single mother is hiding a young Jewish girl in their attic. Aided only by his idiotic imaginary friend, Adolf Hitler, Jojo is forced to confront his blind nationalism.

The film stars Scarlett Johansson (Lost in Translation and The Avengers), Thomasin McKenzie (Leave No Trace and The King), and newcomer Roman Griffin Davis. It has been honored with six Academy Award nominations (Best Picture and Scarlett Johansson as Best Supporting Actress among them).

We’ll gather to view the movie and then discuss the theological insights we uncovered while we watched. Snacks, drinks, and comfy chairs will be provided. As always, friends, dates and neighbors are welcome!
