with the movie Thunderbolts* (2025)
This Month the Marvel Cinematic Universe Comes to Hollywood Jesus. What happens when a group of anti-heroes with checkered pasts are thrown together with the fate of the world on the line? Recruited by CIA Director Valentina Allegra de Fontaine (Julia Louis Dreyfus) to conduct her illegal black ops projects, the Thunderbolts, six enhanced humans with questionable moral-ethical resumes, combine forces to take on her most powerful ally. Dealing with themes of shame, redemption, and mental health, Thunderbolts* (2025) is not your typical superhero movie. And don’t worry, you don’t need to have seen any of the previous MCU films to enjoy this one.
Hollywood Jesus will be on Friday, September May 19th. Social time with pre-movie snacks will begin at 7:00 pm with the movie set to start at 7:20 pm. There will be a brief discussion of the theological and moral-ethical themes of the film immediately following. Movie snacks, light hors d’oeuvres, desserts, drinks, and comfy chairs will be provided. And of course, friends, neighbors, and dates are always welcome!
