This Month at Hollywood Jesus: The Wicked Story Continues
Last January, we screened Wicked! (2024), based on the Broadway production of the same title, which was itself, a story drawn from characters and themes originating in Frank L. Baum’s 1900 novel, The Wonderful Wizard of Oz. But Wicked! only covers the first half of the story. This month, we will screen Wicked: For Good (2025), the second of this two-part feature film adaptation of the Broadway musical that brings the story of Elphaba, the future Wicked Witch of the West and her relationship with Glinda, the Good Witch of the North to its dramatic conclusion.
Rated PG by the MPA for action/violence, some suggestive material and thematic material.
Hollywood Jesus will be on Friday, April 17th in the OPC Great Room. Pre-movie snacks will be served at 7:00 pm with the movie set to begin at 7:20 pm. There will be a brief discussion of the theological and moral-ethical themes of the film immediately following. Movie snacks, light hors d’oeuvres, desserts, drinks, and comfy chairs will be provided.
