Music Ministry

The music ministry at Overbrook provides opportunities for all ages to be of service to the church and the congregation, as well as to improve their own music skills.  The following choirs for voices, handbells and insturmentalists comprise the volunteer music program.

Children and Youth

Carol Choir

The youngest singers, Kindergarten to sixth graders, make up the Carol Choir.  This choir meets on Sunday mornings at 9:30 a.m. and sings in the Traditional Worship service monthly during the school year.

Westminster Choir

Seventh through twelfth graders make up the Westminster Choir.  This choir rehearses on Sunday evenings at 5:00 p.m. and sings in the Traditional Worship service monthly during the school year.

Canterbury Ringers

This handbell choir also calls upon the talents of our seventh through twelfth graders.  The Canterbury Ringers practice together on Sunday evenings at 4:00 p.m. and play the prelude and postlude to the Traditional Worship service several times throughout the school year.

Adult Choirs

Chancel Choir

The Chancel Choir sings one or two anthems and leads the congregation in singing the hymns in the Traditional Worship service nearly every week from Labor Day to Memorial Day.  The choir rehearses Thursdays at 7:30 p.m.

Celebration Singers

The Celebration Singers are a select group of gospel singers who rehearse Thursdays at 7:00 p.m. and sing in the Traditional Worship service about nine times each year.

Overbrook Belles

The Overbrook Belles are a group of adult women handbell players.  They meet Mondays at 6:00 P.M. to practice and play the prelude and postlude for the Traditional Worship service several times a year.

Chancel Chimes

Both men and women ring with the Chancel Chimes.  They meet Sundays after worship to practice and bring their music to the Traditional Worship service several times a year.

Adult Band

Contemporary Worship Band

The Contemporary Worship Band brings together select singers and musicians who meet to rehearse on Thursdays at 6:30 p.m. and lead the Contemporary Worship service every Sunday.
