Lenten Bible Study
We’re already planning for another inspirational Lenten Bible Study! This year, we will base our conversations on the study, Entering the Passion of Jesus, by Amy-Jill Levine. Each week we will jump into the history and literature surrounding the last days of Jesus’ life. Come explore the historical context, the risks and the motives of each of the story’s characters.
Author Amy-Jill Levine works as the Mary Jane Werthan Professor of Jewish Studies at Vanderbilt Divinity School and is an international New Testament scholar! She is a dynamic presenter and an engaging author.
Our course will run Wednesday nights in Lent from March 13th to April 17th. We’ll meet from 7:00 – 8:15pm in the Parlor. Please call the church office (614-261-1040) or email Mary Gause (firstname.lastname@example.org) to register and have a book ordered for you. Books cost $12 each and will be available starting February 1st.
New this Year:
All are invited to join together in the Parlor at 6:00 p.m. to eat a “brown bag dinner” prior to the study. With so many dietary restrictions, we thought we’d try something a bit different this year. So, please bring your own dinner from home, or a restaurant, to enjoy in the six o’clock hour, or join us at 7:00 p.m. for the study.
